Ryan Hornby is an associate in our Business Law Group in Toronto with a general corporate practice. He received his BA in Industrial Relations from McGill University in 2003, his Masters of Industrial Relations from Queen’s University in 2004, and his JD from Queen’s University in 2009. While attending law school, Ryan participated in international exchanges to the Queen’s International Study Centre in East Sussex, UK, and the University of Cape Town.
Gary Litwack‘s practice focuses on public and private equity and debt financing, M&A and securities regulation, with special emphasis on transactions (financings, M&A and industry-focused commercial arrangements) involving mining companies. Counsel in the Toronto office, Gary is named in the 2013 edition of Best Lawyers in Canada for his expertise in natural resources law and securities law. He is also listed in the 2012 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in the area of corporate finance and securities. Gary was called to the Ontario bar in 1990.
Roger Taplin is a partner in the firm’s Business Law Group and is co-leader of the Mining Group. His practice is primarily focused on M&A and securities, particularly in the mining sector. Roger acts for issuers and underwriters on public and private securities offerings, and he provides general securities regulatory and corporate advice to public companies. He has represented mining clients and banks on sizeable mining projects in numerous international jurisdictions. Roger was called to the British Columbia bar in 2003, and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 1997.
Abbey (Junior) Sirivar is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Group in Toronto. His wide-ranging civil litigation practice has included commercial disputes, mining cases, professional negligence and insurance cases. He has acted as trial and appellate counsel, appearing before all levels of court in Ontario, administrative tribunals and arbitral panels. He has tried both jury and non-jury cases as lead and co-counsel. Junior received the 2010 Lexpert Zenith Award for his pro bono activities. Junior sits on the board of directors of the Child Development Institute. He received his BA (Hons.) from Bishop’s University in 1999 and his LLB from Dalhousie University in 2002. He was called to the Ontario bar in 2003.
Adam Wanke is an associate in our Business Law Group in London, UK. He has a general corporate and commercial practice, including M&A and securities law. Adam advises clients in a number of industry sectors, particularly in the mining and energy sectors, and has experience advising North American, Asian and other clients on international mining projects, joint ventures, compliance matters and capital market participation. He was called to the British Columbia bar in 2008.
